I started hot yoga on a whim.

My sophomore year at Columbus College of Art & Design, I fiended for discounted opportunities the school offered. After 6 years as a competitive gymnast, performing round-off-back-handspring-backtuck landings with back-crushing power, repeatedly overextending my lumbar spine, developing what my chiropractor referred to as “gymnast back,” or the more clinical term, lordosis, I decided to retreat to more restorative exercise to keep up with my bodyweight conditioning and active lifestyle.

Hot Yoga became the grounding beneath my creativity. The class was so intense that the instructor had a puddle underneath them. The dynamism of vinyasa yoga and the intensity of the heat melted all of my knots like a deep-tissue massage. While continuing to strengthen my body, I discovered that pulled or torn muscles often recovered within 2 to 3 sessions of hot yoga.

Hot yoga is not only beneficial to my physical health but also to my mental health. I find that I am more willing to persevere in a welcoming, coached, and disciplined environment.

After moving out of Ohio in the middle of 2025, I was seeking a similar intensity of class. I stumbled upon Original Hot Yoga classes at Inner Fire Yoga. This class released muscle tension, provided a coached environment, and grounded me.

Hot Yoga is the Rhythm Between My Cuts.

While I chose to prioritize exercise and tackle fluency in Japanese, my main career pursuit is video editing. I love exploring different themes and dream of working with a team of people united with a shared vision. Collaborative projects are the most challenging, inspiring, and rewarding experiences.
