Teri Engelke
Inner Fire Yoga TeacherMy yoga journey began over 20 years ago, with a steady practice developing about 15 years ago. With a background in dance, I was naturally drawn to the fluidity and expression of movement yoga offers—but what kept me coming back was the deep connection it fosters between mind, body, and spirit.
After moving to Madison for a position at UW, I began practicing at Inner Fire Yoga in 2014. A few years later I completed my 200-hour teacher training through the studio. I started teaching shortly before the pandemic, first at a studio in Lodi, where I taught for three years before relocating to Denver, CO for the past three years. While in Denver, I had the opportunity to teach at YogaSix - South Denver studios, before finding my way back home to Madison—and back to Inner Fire Yoga.
I believe yoga is more than movement—it’s a powerful tool for connecting with your inner being and creating space for self-discovery, healing, and growth. My goal is to create a welcoming, inclusive space where students of all levels can explore their own path and transformation through yoga. What we practice on the mat informs the way we live and show up off the mat.
I’m honored to share this practice with you, and I hope to see you on the mat soon.
