The first time I stepped into a yoga studio was 2009 at Inner Fire Yoga. The struggle was unlike any challenge I had put my body through. It felt like coming home. Maybe it was the heat or possibly the unwavering acceptance found in a yoga community, but I knew I had found a life long practice and dedication.
My dedication is to intertwine yoga into healthcare and therapy, a prescription for mindfulness. After years of competitive sports, I realized through my practice that my biggest opponent was myself. I became an instructor through Inner Fire Yoga in the summer of 2014, after graduating the University of Iowa.
I graduated with a degree in Human Physiology, and a minor in psychology and because of this background, I try to create a mind-body experience rooted in science. Anatomically and physiologically we are slightly different from one another. I want to teach students that uniqueness is perfection. Perception is everything.
