Yoga is a promise to myself that I keep. It serves me as a daily reminder of how I want to be in this body in this life. In teaching, I try to bring what I am learning to my students, and in turn, I learn from them. I have studied with Ashtanga, Power Flow, Anusara, Iyengar, and Bhakti teachers, and incorporate aspects of each of these traditions into my classes. Careful alignment, use of breath, joy in movement, and a focus for the mind are all aspects I try to address in every class. Attention to detail makes the whole expression more vital and exuberant. Playing with the tensions between effort and ease, structure and grace, holding and flow brings attention to the many polar pulls we each navigate on the mat and in life.

I earned my 200 RYT in 2014, and completed my 500 RYT in 2016. In the advanced training, I learned more subtle disciplines of meditation and advanced teaching. I practice in studios all over Madison, and value experiencing diversity of styles. My class is a light hearted place to try new things, maintain a sense of humor, and play. I work to accommodate the needs of the beginner and the more advanced practitioner. I find that students can benefit from a mixed level class, as each is invited to find the level that is individually right, learning from but not trying to be like the others in the room.
