I first got into yoga as cross training for competition dance in high school. I quickly realized that I really enjoyed the mindfulness of the practice as well as the physicality of the postures. Once I got on campus for my freshman year in 2015, I frequently found myself on my mat as a way to ground myself through all the changes I was making in my life. I loved that I was more content on and off my mat when I practiced.
In the summer of 2016, I did an RYT 200-hour teacher training through Corepower Yoga in my hometown of Minneapolis, Minnesota. I originally signed up because I wanted to dedicate more of myself to the practice. But after going through training, I realized I got more out of the training than I could have imagined. I learned about the discipline of the practice, I started to incorporate yoga into my daily life outside of the studio, and I gained so many supportive relationships, teachers and students alike. I was overwhelmed with gratitude for the practice because it brought so many great opportunities into my life. Most importantly, I found an inner peace and greater satisfaction for life. I’m so honored to be continuing my yoga journey as a teacher at Inner Fire. I cannot wait to inspire and be inspired by many dedicated yogis.
