I started doing yoga at a time in my life when I needed to find a way to center and renew myself physically, mentally and emotionally. Up until that point, running had been my preferred form of exercise, but it no longer provided the same benefits as it had in younger years. My first Hot Yoga class at Inner Fire was life changing…the 90 minute class required every part of me to be present and engaged. As I incorporated Hot Yoga into my daily routine, I found myself feeling more energetic than ever before – I had more patience, more self-awareness, less anxiety, and less stress. I decided to deepen my own understanding of my practice and work towards giving back the gift of yoga to others by getting my 200 hr Yoga Teacher Certification through Inner Fire Yoga with a concentration in Hot Yoga and Inner Fire Flow in 2011. I find that a diversified, almost daily yoga practice informs my teaching in every way. I feel honored to be in the company of the Inner Fire Yoga staff who have inspired, encouraged and supported me along my journey toward teaching – I look forward to engaging others to incorporate Hot Yoga into their journey as well towards healthy mind, body and spirit!
